Stuart has some of the oldest residential slabs we work on, and old slabs are a prep conversation before they are a color conversation.
Stuart has the oldest residential concrete we regularly work on, and that makes us as much a repair contractor as an epoxy floor company here. A Martin County garage built in the 1970s or 1980s has usually settled, cracked, and been patched at least once before we see it.

On a Stuart floor the sequence matters. We grind first to expose the true condition of the slab, because paint, sealer, and old coatings hide more cracking than they show. Once the concrete is bare, the real map of the damage is visible.
Cracks are then chased out to a V, vacuumed, and filled with a rigid polymer that becomes part of the slab rather than a flexible caulk that telegraphs through the finish. Spalled apron edges and pitted areas are rebuilt and re-ground flat.
A final pass returns the whole floor to a consistent diamond-ground profile, and moisture readings are taken on the bare, open concrete. That is the only reading worth acting on.
