St. Lucie County · Municipal apparatus bay
Fire Station Apparatus Bay
A working apparatus bay coated to survive apparatus weight, diesel, and constant wash-downs.
The Challenge
The bay slab was sealed years earlier, was dusting badly, and had to stay in service. Any coating had to cure fast enough to return the bay to duty and hold up to apparatus tires and wash-down water.
Preparation
The full slab was diamond ground to remove the old sealer and open the profile. Control joints and spalled areas were cut, filled, and re-profiled before priming.
The Solution
A full flake broadcast in a dark, high-contrast blend was installed, then double-scraped and vacuumed for a smooth walking surface. A high-build protective topcoat was applied and safety lines were re-established.
The Result
A bright, sealed bay that washes down in minutes and hides the reality of daily fire service work.
